Creating an interesting content
A good idea and a little bit of focussed thought towards it can help contrive a fabulous material.
While we all love to get to the main point any given day for almost any kind of factor as soon as possible, sometimes beating around the bush does the trick to instill interest on the subject. That happens very rarely in the writing department though. At other times, straight talks may do the needful but sometimes, being very constraint with words may seem boring. Unless it’s a dire situation where getting to the bottom line immediately is absolutely necessary, one can experiment with different concepts to make it more exciting even while handling serious circumstances.
Write with Ease
Good captivating content is not much hard to create.
To explain it in more detail, I am giving an example of a supposedly austere situation. Also, two examples of different narratives describing the same event.
One, short and curt.
The other one, extensively embellished, but funny take.
The topic: I went to meet my friend in the hospital who recently met with an accident.
How would one elaborately recite or write this episode, keeping in mind to make it intriguing?
E.g. no. 1 (Cutting straight to the matter):
I was in the office only for around half an hour today. No sooner had I switched on the PC in my cubicle that I got a call from the hospital informing me that my best friend has met with an accident.
I swiftly rushed to the hospital and surprisingly found him all happy, binging on some fruits. He had sustained only minor scratches.
E.g no. 2 (Hovering around the main matter for long):
The strong smell of the phenyl emanated from the freshly mopped floor as I moved into the hospital. The nurses and ward boys ran a security check on me through their ever inquisitive eyes as I moved ahead. Maybe my ultra neoteric garb magnetized all the curious eyes on me. A torn jeans, hand-stitched with contrast color thread and a halter neck long Bandini Kurta was my outfit of the day. Guess a wrong choice of clothes to wear on a fateful day like this.
Why fateful? Because my best friend, a serial couch sleeper and the unacknowledged and unauthorized world record holder for sleeping more than 20 hours a day again found himself reclining. Only this time it isn’t funny or amusing since he is not lying idle at his home, but in a hospital.
Unfortunately, he met with an accident an hour ago while he unbelievably took the trouble to go out of the house and buy groceries. An auto driver might have taken the rusty uneven road wrongly to be a smooth formula 1 circuit which is why he had no control over the speed of the vehicle and unwittingly relied on one pathetic soul on the road to force stop his three wheeled Ferrari. Regrettably, as the driver may have expected, that sloth-of-a-man didn’t wave the chequered flag. Instead, he just crossed the road in his own sweet pace which resulted in him ending up doing acrobatic chakrasana unwillingly on the road after bumping up with the auto.
Anyway, the good news is my buddy is hale and healthy, strong and sturdy, eating and happy and sleeping and lazy, as always. I doubt he even sustained any injuries as I could not even spot a single scratch on his body as the doctor claimed he had, “Many scratches and skin peels”.
Even my ugly shoe bite looked more “serious” than his “injuries”.
So which content sounds stimulating?
It’s all about the good approach towards dealing with the subject. Yes. Accident is a sensitive issue. A serious, gloomy affair where one may stereotypically think writing about the friend’s good traits, his past escapades and their friendship as a tribute to present this whole incident and finish it off with a happy ending thanking the good time that the friend’s injuries weren’t severe.
Instead of finishing off in a happy note, why not take only the positives from it and make the whole episode a happy enjoyable one? No one is going to get a prize to guess that the guy would survive the accident. Then why create an unnecessary suspense over the condition of the character? He is well. Didn’t even get any fractures. So take a humorous ride and create some funny nuances dedicating it to the “miracle survivor” of the accident.
The task of engaging the readers on the topic that too by not getting to the point immediately is a big challenge. More than making the point interesting, one has to think very cleverly about making the roundabout way appealing to the readers. The words leading to the main topic should be relatable enough to let the readers hold on longer to the subject you are dealing with.
Remember, a good captivating content is not much hard to create. A good idea and a little bit of focussed thought towards it can help contrive a fabulous material.
So as always… Happy writing:)
